The brand-new Magnum is an excellent looking car that will get your next-door neighbors talking as you rumble around the block. The distinct styling of the Magnum will also draw in gawkers in the form of 18-22 years of age guys pointing for their good friends to “check that out”. And a few individuals will approach you as you are filling the gas tank to ask, “Does it truly have a Hemi?”, with just an unclear idea that it somehow makes the car much better. The Magnum is provided with various engine sizes (either a 6-cylinder or 8-cylinder) with your choice of horse power output of 190, 250, 340 and 425. The cost of the automobile also refers the engine size beginning at $30,345 to the expensive STR-8 design for $37,320. A big part of the mystique around this car is the Hemi engine. The Hemi is brief for hemispherical combustion chamber, which creates more efficient fuel burning and enables bigger valves for much better airflow. Basically, it produces more power than an engine with its displacement would normally produce. (There are also downsides to the Hemi, which is why it isn’t really the only engine that Chrysler produces). The interior of the car looks much more expensive than you ‘d anticipate for the cost of the Magnum. Since Mercedes purchased Chrysler, the Dodge vehicles I’ve tested have actually had a sharp enhancement in interior quality. While on the road, the car is extremely strong and the seats are comfy even on long highway runs. As much as I like the looks, after driving it a while I truly need to question the design idea that the Magnum deals. It is a station wagon built to transfer a great deal of individuals and a great deal of stuff. However mating this with a powerful engine with the taught racing-like suspension is uneasy for both. It is like having a Corvette tow a little trailer, and you remain in the trailer and the Corvette chauffeur is 15 years-old, pressing the car to its limitations. (Only an actual Corvette has a a lot more comfy suspension than the Magnum). Even driving on smooth roads, the steering is extremely darty and challenging to manage. And with a large car, all that weaving and road feedback is exaggerated for the guests and whatever you’ve stored in the back. I like having a navigation system, however figuring out how to use it with the guiding wheel controls made me frequently refer to the user’s handbook. In spite of the high horse power and low-end torque I played with when beginning from a complete stop, the RT design I drove balanced 20 MPG on the higway. What I presume to be the target market for this car, those 18-22 year-old guys that I discussed, will probably love this car. And as much as I love driving cars, the darty steering and sharp suspension make it too uneasy with no magnificent payoff. The 0-60 sprint is enjoyable for a little while, however I ‘d hand down purchasing a Magnum as a day-to-day driving automobile.
