ALL NEW 2022 Dodge Durango SRT 392 Review – Redesign – Pricing – Specs – Interior & Exterior – With the attitude of the Challenger muscle car and the space of a three-row family SUV, the 2022 Dodge Durango SRT 392 sits at the apex of speed and practicality. The Hemi V-8 provides 475 horsepower, and in our testing it propelled the Durango SRT to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds. It also makes this SUV capable of a smoky four-wheel burnout. Fuel economy is as shameful as expected but that’s the price for looking this cool. The Durango SRT isn’t entirely flash, though. Its spacious three-row layout provides enough room for adults and kids to get comfortable, and with the adjustable suspension set to comfort mode, the ride is just compliant enough to avoid complaints from passengers.Other than newly standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert features, the Durango SRT 392 carries over to 2022 with no changes.Standard features on the SRT 392 include navigation, leather-and-microsuede seats with heating and ventilation for those up front, heated second-row captain’s chairs, and three-zone automatic climate control. If we were to spec this vehicle, we’d likely add the Technology Group package for its adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking, and other driver-assistance features.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The Durango SRT’s 6.4-liter V-8 gives it far more gusto than most people need in a three-row SUV. But we’re not most people, and if you’re reading this, you probably aren’t, either. The Durango SRT lays down its power in a smooth linear fashion. It is brutally quick, too, and sounds oh so glorious under heavy throttle. Come to think of it, the Durango SRT’s V-8 sounds throaty and thunderous even at half-throttle, which is good, because full-throttle situations on public roads lead quickly to “Sorry, officer” speeds. At the test track, the Durango SRT managed a blistering 4.7-second run to 60 mph, just 0.3 second behind the similarly powered two-row Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. From behind the wheel, it’s easy to feel like a racing champion, even with the whole family onboard. The SUV’s steering is sharp and communicative, and the stiff suspension does a commendable job of disguising the Durango SRT’s weight and high center of gravity.

As the team at Motor Pattern discovered when it included one to its long-lasting fleet, the Dodge Durango GT is a spacious, functional SUV that’s also sportier compared to you may anticipate.
