In this video I show you how the cheap no name hoses that came with the eBay billet catch can literally choked the PCV – Positive Crankcase Ventilation system on my truck. This happened on the RAM 1500 HEMI with the 5.7l This system is responsible for letting pressure in the crankcase be released and then sent back into the intake to be reused by the engine. Don’t let this happen to you on your Dodge Ram HEMI oil catch can
Well as luck would have it the hoses collapsed under the vacuum pressure and ended up blocking the usual path that the PCV system has to escape.
This was fixed by purchasing GOOD quality 1/2″ hose from NAPA and cutting it to length and reinstalling it on the barbed fittings.
